SET UP INSTRUCTIONS
Rotate the head as necessary to perform the type of pull you will be doing. Typical up pull is shown in photo. Once adjustment is made, secure head in position by tightening right angle sheave.
When ready to start pulling cable, use only three wraps of rope on the capstan at first. Using too many wraps will reduce your ability to control the rope on the capstan. Use the right angle sheave to position yourself so you are not in line with the high tension rope in case it, the cable or the connector breaks.
Turn on the puller by depressing the foot pedal switch and gradually apply a tailing force to the free end of the rope. If the tailing force becomes uncomfortably high, turn off the puller and add another wrap. If the rope starts to climb or double on itself, ease up on the tailing force to allow it to settle down to the base diameter. If it is continually climbing or doubling, turn off the puller and remove a wrap.
Loosen locking screw to adjust head assembly. Place head next to conduit connector. Use a nylon tie wrap to secure head to conduit connector if necessary.
Bring pull rope over front roller and down to capstan. Apply three (3) turns of rope to capstan and finish by bringing pull rope up to and thru right angle sheave. You can now begin your pull.
